Dave W. 1.0 hrs. Drilled boot cowl floor and fabricated stiffeners. Trimmed side skins to fit around main gear.
The plans are ambiguous about the side skins-- the drawings do not show the actual pieces I was shipped. May have been easier to attach before the gear was mounted, but that's not the sequence in the Text Manual. I made a template for the area near the gear and trimmed one side to the template, then made final adjustments. This complete piece was then used as a template for the other side.
Once again, the failure of the instructions and drawings caused a delay in the project. That's why I can't recommend the S-21 for first-timers until a number of builders publish their build experiences (thanks to KitPlanes and the EAA for this).
